Electric arc furnaces situations and solve methods in daily operations

Apr 02,2019

Electric arc furnaces often encounter different situations in daily operations. Faults of different sizes, because of the automatic control system control, the safety and reliability of the system is particularly important. If the system fails, it will lead to production interruption or stop, and then Lead to other more serious production failures.

"Arc ignition" in the operation process of electric arc furnace is particularly important. The following are the common causes and troubleshooting of "ignition arc".
Common faults in the "arcing arc" operation process:
1. "Induction arc" is not good, the cause of this failure and the elimination method:
(1) The "ignition arc" button is in poor contact. This fault is more common. If the button is faulty after a long time of use, just replace the new button.
(2) The electrode clamp in the tee tube is too loose. This fault is not easy to find. It needs to be measured by the instrument. To handle this fault, it is only necessary to re-adjust the position of the electrode holder.
(3) The arcing relay on the electrical board is in poor contact. According to the condition of the relay, adjust the position of the relay on the electrical board or replace the arcing relay.
(4) The high-frequency coil has a flying fox sparking phenomenon. If such a fault occurs, the high-frequency coil needs to be replaced immediately, so as to avoid other faults caused by the voltage.
(5) An electrical connector may be loose, check each connector for looseness or broken wire, and tighten the terminal.
(6) The position of the electrode is unreasonable, and the position of the electrode rod can be adjusted.
2. Can not "ignition arc", the cause of this failure and the elimination method:
(1) 1000V/0.47μF capacitor breakdown, pay attention to the arcing time and replace the capacitor.
(2) The high frequency coil is broken down, pay attention to the arcing time and replace the high frequency coil.
(3) The fuse is blown and the fuse can be replaced.
