Performance of aluminum-magnesium spinel castables

1 High temperature resistance: aluminum-magnesium spinel has a high melting point, which enables the castable to withstand the heat of high-temperature molten steel in the ladle. It can generally remain stable in a high temperature environment above 1600℃ and is not prone to softening and deformation.

2 Anti-corrosion performance: It can effectively resist the chemical erosion of steel slag. The reaction activity of spinel and components in steel slag is low, which can prevent steel slag from corroding the castable and extend its service life.

3 Thermal shock resistance: During the use of the ladle, frequent temperature changes will produce thermal stress. The aluminum-magnesium spinel castable has good thermal stability and can withstand the thermal shock of rapid cooling and heating. It is not easy to crack or peel off.

4 Anti-scouring performance: During the operation of molten steel loading, pouring and stirring, molten steel and slag will scour the lining of the ladle. The castable has a dense structure and high strength and can resist the scouring of molten steel and slag.

5 Volume stability: At high temperatures, the aluminum-magnesium spinel castable will not undergo significant volume changes, which can maintain the integrity of the ladle lining and prevent the lining structure from being damaged due to volume changes.

Application of aluminum-magnesium spinel castables in ladle

1 Extend the service life of the ladle: With its excellent performance, it can effectively reduce the damage to the ladle lining during use, extend the service life of the ladle, reduce the maintenance and replacement frequency of the ladle, improve production efficiency, and reduce production costs.

2 Improve the safety of the ladle: Stable performance can ensure the safety of the ladle during the process of holding and transporting molten steel, and reduce the probability of safety accidents such as molten steel leakage caused by lining damage.

3 Adapt to different steel grades and processes: Whether it is the production of ordinary carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel, aluminum-magnesium spinel castables can adapt to the corresponding molten steel temperature and composition, and meet the requirements of different steelmaking processes for the ladle lining.

4. Reduce refractory consumption: Compared with some other refractory materials, alumina-magnesium spinel castables have a long service life and low refractory consumption per ton of steel, which helps companies reduce the purchase and use costs of refractory materials.
