Detailed introduction for glass pool kiln

Aug 02,2018

Prepared batch was put into glass pool kiln (it was built with fused zirconia corundum brick) for melting and clarifying. Kiln pool was built on H-shape steel beam supported by stand column, including pool wall and bottom. H-shape steel beam was built on stand column, flat iron and crib beam made by box iron was built on H-shape steel beam, and the large brick on the bottom was built on the crib beam. Because the bottom stand column support the weight of kiln pool and the weight of glass liquid, so the lining area for kiln pool was determined by the glass liquid melted on each kiln poor. The width is related with the length of pool kiln flame, we usually choose a small furnace according to kiln width.

The thickness for the bottom fused brick kiln is 220 ~ 300mm, dry masonry methods to shrink brick gap and reduce erosion from glass liquid on bottom. The AZS brick on vertical and horizontal gap must be cut-through when we lay, and the brick on bottom must be got certain expansion and movement when the thermal expansion occur. The depth for kiln pool is 1200 ~ 1500mm.

Since combustion of fuel and raw material melting, the temperatures at melting part will reach to 1550 ~ 1580 ℃. Besides, the stream of molten glass and thermal convection is very intense, it will make great erosion and washing on fused zirconia corundum brick pool wall, so the fused brick on pool wall is corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance such as no shrinkage fused zirconia corundum brick.

We can slow the rate of erosion by cooling the pool wall, the usual approach is cooling air blowing. In order to prevent the relocation of the wall under the pressure from glass liquid, we give support for the pool wall by building box steel or angle steel on two sides of the stand column of H-shape steel.
