Masonry Materials for Coke Quenching Tank

Nov 17,2016
Coke quenching is an important part of the coke production process. There are two methods of coke quenching: wet coke quenching and dry coke quenching. Wet quenching using water as a carrier, to achieve the purpose of quenching. Although this method has many shortcomings, the process is simple, low investment, is still widely used in China. With the development of society, environmental protection and energy requirements are getting higher and higher, in recent years, many of our steel plant use dry coke quenching device.
Coke-quenching tank is the main component of the dry quenching device, contains upper cone, pre-chamber (annular airway), inclined air duct and cooling chamber. The cold inert gas (N2) enters the cooling chamber from below the hood, and after the heat exchange in the cooling chamber, the hot inert gas is cooled by the wind of the oblique wind, and the inert gas enters the cooling chamber through the upper cone, Road into the ring air duct, in the opening collection, and then through the dust purification, heat recovery by the waste heat boiler, and final continue to recycle.
Compared with the wet coke quenching, dry coke quenching with the feature of reducing water waste and the effective of using coke thermal energy up to 80%, can improve the quality of coke and the production environment and so on.
This article mainly introduces the masonry of CDQ equipment. A Coke quenching tank of quenching capacity 140t / h, full masonry height is  20.25m, the largest diameter is 9.1m, the pre-storage volume is 297m3, the cooling chamber volume is 390m3, lining materials are: mullite brick, clay brick, silicon carbide brick, insulation bricks, and so on.
