Refractory Bricks

Application parts and requirements of high alumina bricks in hot blast stoves

Aug 06,2018

The blast furnace ironmaking hot blast stove is an important core kiln in the iron making process. The high alumina brick is widely used as a refractory material in hot blast stoves. The hot blast stove has a large difference in temperature between the upper and lower sides, so the refractory materials used in each section vary greatly. The parts of the high-aluminum bricks are mainly hot-furnace vaulted areas, large walls, regenerators, combustion chambers, and the like. details as follows:
1. Hot blast furnace vault area
The vault is the space connecting the combustion chamber and the regenerator, including the working layer brick, the filler layer and the insulation layer. Due to the high temperature in the vault area of the hot blast stove, exceeding 1400, the high aluminum brick used in the working layer is a low creep high aluminum brick. This part can also be made of silica brick, mullite brick, sillimanite and andalusite brick.
2, the big for hot blast furnace wall
The hot blast furnace wall refers to the wall portion of the hot blast stove body, including the working layer brick, the filling layer and the insulation layer. The working layer bricks are made of different refractory bricks according to the upper and lower temperatures, and the high aluminum bricks are mainly applied to the middle and lower parts.
3, regenerator
The regenerator is a space filled with checkered bricks. The main function is to exchange heat between the high-temperature flue gas and the combustion-supporting air by using the internal lattice bricks. In this area, low creep high alumina bricks are used, mainly in the middle position.
4, the combustion chamber
The combustion chamber is the space in which the gas is burned. The setting of the combustion chamber space has a great relationship with the furnace type and structure of the hot blast stove. High-aluminum bricks are used more in this part, and low-creep high-aluminum bricks are used in the high-temperature region, and ordinary high-aluminum bricks can be used in the low-temperature region.
