Could the refractory castable be used normally after being damp?

Jan 20,2021

Some friends have caused the refractory castable to get damp because of the wrong storage method. Could the refractory castable be used normally after it gets wet?
1. Could the refractory castable be used normally after being damp?
The refractory castable in storage may be partially hydrated due to moisture absorption during storage, which reduces the bonding strength of the refractory castable and insufficient hydration. In addition, the service life of the refractory castable is generally about half a year, and the alkali-resistant refractory castable is 12 months. If the storage time of the refractory castable exceeds the use period, the refractory castable will be damp and cannot be used. If it can be found in time, it is necessary to check the damp condition. If there is agglomeration, do not use the refractory catsble anymore and discard the refractory castable. But those refractory castable with lighter moisture can be degraded and used.
2, the correct storage method of refractory castables
1. The refractory castable should be stored in a dry warehouse, and it should not be damp.
2. Separate storage for different types of refractory castables.
3. The storage time of the refractory castable should not exceed six months.
