Refractory Bricks

The Ramming Material for Glass Furnace

Aug 13,2018

The performance of refractory materials against high temperature glass liquid erosion is an important factor in determining the life of glass furnaces and the quality of glass products. Zirconium ramming material can be widely used in the bottom of glass kiln. In addition to its good integrity, good sealing and strong adaptability, it also benefits from the superior corrosion resistance and high fire resistance of zirconium materials. degree. Zirconium aggregate is the skeleton of zirconium ramming material and plays an important role in the high temperature physical properties of zirconium ramming. At present, there are mainly two types of zirconium ramming materials for the bottom of glass kiln used in China: one is electrofusion AZS ramming material, and the other is zircon ramming material.

The electrofusion AZS quality crucible is obtained by crushing the fused zirconium corundum brick into particles of about 5 mm as aggregate, and then mixing with other auxiliary materials. It retains the advantages of fused zirconium corundum bricks, has strong resistance to glass liquid erosion, has a small porosity, and is extremely stable in performance, and can well inhibit the intrusion of molten glass and metal. Zircon ramming material is prepared by adding a certain proportion of pulverized sintered zircon brick pieces into the zirconium mud powder as aggregate, and then adding other auxiliary materials, which has high refractoriness and good resistance to glass liquid corrosion. During the construction of the two zirconium ramming materials, only a proper amount of water should be added in proportion to mix. After mixing, the ramming material is wet and loose, and then beaten. After high temperature sintering, it becomes a solid whole, and the construction is abandoned. Previously, the use of phosphoric acid as a binder was safer and more convenient.
